There was a treble for James Dew on finals day for the Mid Sussex Billiards and Snooker League as he lifted the Dennis Wakeford Trophy, the Secretary’s Billiards Cup Handicap and the Denman Cup Billiards Open title. Zack Richardson finished the billiards and snooker season with a flourish. After pipping Neil Baker’s seasons’s best 104 by a single point, he then claimed the open title with a 4-1 victory over Anthony Flynn. On the finals day at the Keymer and Hassocks Men’s Club, there was sweet revenge for rising star Gary Goodman as in the Stoner Cup Handicap he beat Mark Bright 3-0 to avenge an earlier defeat in the Harper Cup Final. The Dennis Wakeford Trophy was lifted by Dew as he beat Barry Martin 2-1 in the snooker and 201-151 in the billiards. Other results were- Charity Trebles: David Page, Mark Coles and Gary Goodman beat Stuart Harsant, Jon Phipps and Chris Carter 153-134. Lanaway Doubles: Lee Morley and Stuart Williamson beat Lee Cannizarro and Martin Batchelor 3-1. Grandmasters: Vincent Elphick w/o Colin Selby.
