Lindfield D were formed in 2005 and are currently playing their forth consecutive season in the lower ranks of the Thursday league. The current squad consists of Andy Guy, Gary Smith, Terry Gasson, Ken Bolsom, Richard Hazelden, Keith Joyice and Mick Lewry. Terry captained the team for the first two seasons before Andy took over at the beginning of the 2007/08 season. Andy has played in every single league and cup match of the team’s existence. The first half of this season has seen the team smashing their own record by recording four wins before Christmas! If not for several poor away performances the team may even have been chasing for a promotion spot, although they did secure an impressive, or some might say lucky, away victory at second-placed Balcombe D. With a whole half a season to go time will tell if Lindfield D can finish the 2008/09 season in the top half of the table for the first time. After that it is surely only onwards and upwards… |
